Every Company Has A Beginning...

And although the Astary name is young, our story begins years ago with a collection of used art supplies and a little girl with a vast imagination for creating things of beauty out of what some considered to be nothing.

As a child growing up in Atlanta, Georgia, Amy Terrell always had a passion for learning. Getting her hands on even the most obscure materials allowed Amy to explore the world of art by any and all means imaginable. Each project reflected her attention to detail, and her studies in art history only increased her appreciation for the fine arts.

By her early teens, Amy began to travel throughout the world, absorbing the details and intrinsic beauty of the architecture, nature and culture of her surroundings. Each experience continued to add to the magic of her creative process.

After graduating from the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business, Amy decided to combine her love of art and jewelry and pursue a career in jewelry design. Her decision to study at the Gemological Institute of America's world headquarters in Southern California was the next logical step. While at GIA, Amy obtained her Graduate Gemology degree, as well as certificates in jewelry design and wax carving.

In 2004, armed with over eight years of experience in high-end jewelry retail, and an education from the world's foremost authority in gemological studies, Amy realized it was time to start designing on her own… and the Astary Collection was born.
